Companioning Support
Companioning is a form of crisis intervention which utilizes a trauma-informed approach by professionally trained volunteers. This service is especially helpful for professional communities when lived experience speakers are present.
The trauma of the past may be activated in the present, creating the need for support. KCIT’s trained volunteers will connect with the individual and utilize KCIT’s Group Crisis Intervention model to stabilize, normalize, and validate what they are currently experiencing. With an emphasis on hope, resiliency, and self-care, volunteers help guide the individual through the emotional dysregulation.
