Post Service Intervention

 

Vicarious trauma is real, especially for those working on the front lines serving individuals who have experienced sexual assault. KCIT recognizes the important work Sexual Assault/Forensic Nurses provide to those who are possibly experiencing one of the most difficult times in their lives, and has created a service to support these nurses after exams.

KCIT’s professionally trained volunteers provide confidential outreach to help validate and normalize what they may be experiencing after providing victim assistance. This service makes nurses feel less alone and promotes longevity as a SANE Nurse.
